Kempton Placepot: Thursday November 28

Racing comes from the all-weather at Kempton today
Racing comes from the all-weather at Kempton today

Despite the wealth of jumps action on offer today, Kempton makes the most appeal from a Placepot perspective...

"Racing’s Dream appears on only his second start after tanking along for much of his debut in a heavy-ground maiden at Doncaster..."

16:05 - An apprentice handicap kicks off proceedings on the all-weather and Exkaliber gets the first vote after almost breaking his duck here last time. He won't be inconvenienced by the return to six furlongs and should give another good account today. The second selection is Play The Blues who is another yet to get on the scoresheet, but is worth taking a chance on in his first start for a new yard.

16:35 - It's a seven-furlong fillies' maiden up next and Rush after her encouraging third here a fortnight ago on the back of a long layoff. That performance was one of potential and she was delicately handled after seven months off, and is likely to be sharper and more dangerous today. The other pick is Perfect Persuasion who is a half-sister to multiple winners with the yard operating at a fair strike-rate with juveniles here over the past five seasons.

17:05 - It's the second division of the 16:35 which follows and it looks a weaker contest in which Minnaloushe, who we've called on before in our quest for Placepot glory, has found an excellent opportunity to get off the mark. The extra furlong shouldn't be a problem and her gallant seconds on her last two starts are a perfect platform to finally shed her maiden tag; she is a confident and thus sole selection.

17:35 - It's another sole selection in the maiden over a mile, in which Racing's Dream appears on only his second start after tanking along for much of his debut in a heavy-ground maiden at Doncaster. An interesting contender and one with the potential to play a big part here, although the favourite Isabella Beeton looks to have an excellent chance.

18:05 - One Penny Piece needs little justification as a winner of three of her seven starts, the most recent of which came at Lingfield last week. She looks to have another excellent chance today and can continue her exceptional campaign.

18:35 - On the basis our perm is still standing by this late point in the day, we go for two in what looks a tricky handicap over a mile for the final leg. Tee It Up Tommo is sure to be popular after the handicapper only raised him 3 lb for his Lingifled success, but the draw is a negative and it's better to side with recent course maiden winner My Gigi who won that contest in style and looks to be on a fair mark. Welsh Sunrise is the other selection, who still has low mileage on the clock and was second over C&D here a fortnight ago.

16:05 - 1,9
16:35 - 7,9
17:05 - 6
17:35 - 1
18:05 - 3
18:35 - 9,10
