Goodwood is the venue for Saturday's attempt at the Placepot...
Oasis Fantasy has some really solid form to his name, not least his Ascot third last time, and he promises to be suited by this step up in trip...
13:45- Kingman's half-brother Remote is clearly the horse to beat, but his extended absence is an obvious concern, and it might be worth opposing him in the Placepot with Grandeur and The Corsican. Grandeur has a tremendous record at this course and has competed creditably at higher levels in the past, while The Corsican progressed rapidly last season and should have plenty more to offer.
14:20- There's wasn't much separating Rawaki and Felix Mendelssohn at Ascot last time, and they could be the pair to concentrate on here. Felix Mendelssohn was making just his third start at Ascot, so could yet be capable of better, whole Rawaki has shown slightly better form in the past and ought to come on for his creditable reappearance effort.
14:55- King to Be ran out a decisive winner of a C&D maiden on his return, and he followed that up with a promising fifth on his handicap bow at York recently. King To Be wasn't seen to best effect at York, though, so he should still have more to offer. This is quite a competitive race so we'll also add My Dream Boat as he showed much-improved form on his first outing for Clive Cox at Doncaster and the way in which he quickened suggested that he'll stay ahead of the handicapper for a while yet.
15:30- Bournemouth Belle showed plenty when third at Windsor on debut and looks the obvious call up against a field of newcomers. We'll bank on Richard Hannon's charge.
16:05- Oasis Fantasy has some really solid form to his name, not least his Ascot third last time, and he promises to be suited by this step up in trip. Oasis Fantasy can be relied upon to launch a bold bid and ought to go extremely close.
16:40- This veterans' sprint handicap is a tricky way to finish the Placepot, and we'll need to keep a few onside. Dominium is pretty consistent and arrives here in good form, so he makes plenty of appeal from a Placepot perspective, while Pettochside is another who gives his running more often that not and has put up a couple of respectable efforts the last twice. We'll also add Midnight Rider as he is capable of making an impact from this kind of mark, for all he's a bit of a tricky customer.
