There's an interesting card at Epsom on Sunday and that is where our Placepot attempt comes from...
Whinging Willie and Eton Rambler are closely matched on their recent 1-2 finish over C&D and there is good reason to expect them to go close again...
14:10- Fieldsman boasts a progressive profile - bar a blip on soft ground at Newmarket - and he makes his nursery debut from a fair-looking mark, especially as he remains open to further improvement. He won with a bit in hand at Brighton, always looking to be holding on, and should launch a bold bid.
14:45- Henryhudsonbridge looks to have a bit on his plate up against a trio of useful prospects, and it is difficult to split Christophermarlowe, Good Contact and Marshall Jennings with any great degree of confidence. Marshall Jennings probably just about sets the standard with an excellent second in a Doncaster nursery, while his proven ability to handle this unique course is a positive, but Good Contact and Christophermarlowe, in particular, are open to lots of improvement and the safe option is to simply include the trio.
15:20- Merry Me failed in her bid for the hat-trick last time but she enhanced her reputation, finishing a good, close-up third, and the form of that effort has been boosted by GM Hopkins' success in the Silver Cambridgeshire. Merry Me is progressive, in fantastic form and should go extremely close this afternoon.
15:55- This is quite competitive stuff but the first horse that we will turn to is Jakey. Jakey impressed when winning over C&D on his latest start, really catching the eye with the way in which he made up ground to get up late on, and he remains on a fair mark. He is joined in the permutation by Yaakooum as Richard Hannon's charge has been much improved since sent handicapping, winning twice before holding his form at a higher grade. There's no reason to suggest that he won't run well again and he can finish in the three.
16:30- Whinging Willie and Eton Rambler are closely matched on their recent 1-2 finish over C&D and there is good reason to expect them to go close again. Their proven course record is obviously a positive, they haven't been hit too hard by the handicapper and should both remain competitive.
17:05- Ghany is bred to be smart and shaped encouragingly on her first outing, taking time to knuckle down but running on well under a hands-and-heels ride to finish third. She will improve on that effort and looks well up to winning a maiden; she looks a banker for today's contest.
