There's racing at Chelmsford City this evening, and that's where we head for Thursday's attempt at the Placepot...
Invigilator has run well the last twice, finishing in the frame on both occasions, and there's every reason to expect another bold showing from Derek Shaw's C&D winner...
17:45- Claude Greenwood finished a good second in a Kempton handicap recently, acknowledging he was well positioned, and he's the first horse that we will turn to. This is a trappy race, though, so we'll also include Hierarch who was a creditable third at Kempton last time, backing up a good effort at Lingfield the time before, and he's likely to be seen coming home well.
18:15- Entertainment showed plenty in a couple of Newmarket maidens last autumn and will take all the beating on her return. She looks banker material.
18:45- India's Song improved again and went like the best horse at the weights when finishing second here last week, only going down to one who very much had the run of the race. Jamie Spencer takes over from a 7-lb claimer and India's Song ought to go very close.
19:15- Invigilator has run well the last twice, finishing in the frame on both occasions, and there's every reason to expect another bold showing from Derek Shaw's C&D winner. Gung Ho Jack found his winning sequence coming to an end at Kempton last time, and he's probably high enough in the weights now, but his yard continue to go well and this isn't as demanding a race as last time.
19:45- Hanno displayed clear signs of temperament last season, though he often finished on the premises, and looks a good type to have on side in the Placepot. We'll also include Cherry Street as he was a creditable third over C&D three weeks ago, and is likely to be better for that run.
20:15- There's a good chance the well-bred Leoncavello could blow an opening mark of 62 out of the water stepped up in trip here, and he can provide his powerful stable with yet another winner.
17:45- 3, 7
