Chelmsford City stage racing this evening and that's where we head for Thursday's attempt at the Placepot...
Satchville Flyer is unexposed as a sprinter and looked one to follow when winning with a fair bit in hand over C&D last week, always in total control at the head of affairs...
17:35- Silversmith made a promising start to his career when finishing runner-up at Kempton, and he looks sure to improve with the benefit of that experience under his belt. That Kempton second represents the best form on offer and Silversmith is banker material in the Placepot.
18:10- With the Michael Appleby stable in such sparkling form it could be worth adding Tartan Trip to the Placepot as he has been cut some slack by the handicapper and ran respectably on his return from a short break at Southwell last time. He is joined in the permutation by Baileys En Premier as he finished a good fourth over C&D recently and is likely to be on the premises again.
18:40- Satchville Flyer is unexposed as a sprinter and looked one to follow when winning with a fair bit in hand over C&D last week, always in total control at the head of affairs. A penalty won't be enough to stop him if in similar form this evening, and there's a fair chance he can achieve more as a sprinter.
19:10- Only four are set to go to post following the withdrawal of San Quentin, and this looks a good opportunity for The Yank to register the hat-trick. The Yank arrives in a rich vein of form having won twice at Wolverhampton, value for more than the winning margin on both occasions, and he should prove too good.
19:40- Rizal Park has failed to match expectations the last twice, but he still ran respectably at Kempton last time and should go well in this less competitive race. Rizal Park hasn't got loads in hand from his current mark, but he looks better treated than his rivals and is worth including in the Placepot. It's also worth chancing Tatting as, though on a long losing run, he ran with some promise over C&D recently and would have good claims if building upon that performance.
20:10- A non-runner reducing the field to four makes things tricky for Placepot purposes. It's tricky to rule out any of the foursome with confidence so the best option is to include all four. If pushed, easy Southwell winner Teajaybe would get the narrow verdict, but the best play is to adopt the safety-first approach and cover the field
18:10- 2, 11
19:40- 3, 4
