There's a good card at Beverley this afternoon and that's where we head for Thursday's attempt at the Placepot...
Thankstomonty is bred to relish this stiffer test, is the type to do much better this term and hails from a yard going well, so he has plenty to recommend him on handicap debut..
13:55- Ayresome Angel showed up well for a long way on her debut earlier in the month and can put her experience to good use from a handy draw near the rail. We'll bank on Bryan Smart's filly going close.
14:30- This is a competitive three-year-old handicap and we'll need to keep a couple on side in order to progress. The Richard Fahey-trained Billy Bond made an encouraging return to action when finishing third on his handicap debut and he remains open to improvement. Beach Action showed improved form in a first-time hood when finishing second in a handicap at Musselburgh 18 days ago and he should launch another bold bid, so is also worth adding to the permutation.
15:00- Bow And Arrow resumed progress when running out a narrow winner at Lingfield two weeks ago, showing a good attitude, and he remains capable of better. We'll bank on Godolphin's lightly-raced three-year-old going close.
15:30- Unexposed five-year-old Two Jabs got off the mark at the fourth attempt in maidens at Wolverhampton over this trip in October and put up an even better effort in defeat when finishing second (clear of third) back there a month ago. He's the first horse we'll turn to. It's also worth adding Saved By The Bell as he was progressive for this yard last term and put up a string of respectable efforts in competitive handicaps.
16:00- Gleese The Devil is bred to be suited by much further than this, but given the fact he boasts the least exposed profile in the line-up and hails from a yard amongst the winners he may well be worth chancing. We'll also add Blink King as it's hard to knock his consistency on his final three runs of last year, and he shouldn't be dismissed lightly on return.
