Kempton Park in all its glory
"Without A Prayer is the classiest horse in the race, has the pace to cope if it gets tactical and this is definitely his grade."
The weather looks ominous for Carlisle and possibly for Leicester, so Andrew Hughes is concentrating on the Polytrack at Kempton for Sunday's best bets.
3:45 Hyde Stakes, Kempton
Re Barolo will go off the favourite for this Listed contest but he could find things happening too quickly over this easy mile so I'll be looking elsewhere. Plum Pudding is a solid campaigner but won't get an easy lead from his widest draw. Instead, the early pace will come from Dunelight, but that one is coming here off a 488 day absence. So I'll be backing Without A Prayer, at [5.5] or so. He's the classiest horse in the race, has the pace to cope if it gets tactical and this is definitely his grade.
4:15 Wildflower Stakes, Kempton
Les Fazzani came second in this last year, but on that occasion made all the going, not her usual modus operandi and she is vulnerable if there's no pace. The three-year olds Mooakada and Pachattack are dangerous, but I'm going to side with Saphira's Fire who is rated ten pounds higher than those two whilst being similarly unexposed. This is a more realistic contest than the Group races she's been aimed at this year and she has been crying out for another crack at twelve furlongs.
Andrew Hughes' Best Bets for Sunday November 29
3:45 Kempton, Without A Prayer - Win @ [5.5] or better
4:15 Kempton, Saphira's Fire - Win @ [4.0] or better
