Carl Harris is not going to desert Richard Fahey's winning team...

I had a great day at York yesterday and it's back to my favourite place in the world with the intention of backing Sloop Johnb (3.10) again.

Richard Fahey is in scintillating form, as we saw with a Joe Jo Star winning very easily for us. Sloop Johnb was a non-runner yesterday because Fahey didn't think he would get a run in the £100k Reg Griffin Memorial Trophy, but he did. He takes on three-year-olds rather than his elders and I am still siding with the in-form team.

Today represents a significant step up in class but Fahey must be confident and the way his string are running it would be hard for anyone to disagree with him. The stable has had 14 winners in the past 14 days with a record at York which is second to none. A competitive, to say the least, sprint handicap will guarantee us a decent price. Sloop Johnb is one for both a win and place market investment.

The favourite, Master of Disguise, has been put up 11 pounds for his Sandown win which I think is more than enough for us to oppose Clive Cox's son of Kyllachy.

Another horse to oppose is Global (1.50) at Sandown who, having been raised a further six pounds after three straight wins, may be in the grip of the handicapper. This race can go the way of Forte Dei Marmi for Luca Cumani, who has once again booked William Buick for the ride. The young jockey has three wins from 10 rides this reason for the trainer and looks a champion in the making. I see this as a positive and will be backing Forte Dei Marmi accordingly.

There is rarely a meeting at York when Frankie Dettori doesn't visit the winner's enclosure and Seaway (4.55) should provide a welcome winner for Godolphin in the maiden. Rated 90, last year's Chesham second disappointed last time at Newmarket but will have come on for that run and should really win this ordinary looking contest.

I plan to have a quiet couple of days preparing for Royal Ascot, which I can't wait for!

Saturdays Best Bets...
1.50 Sandown - Forte Dei Marmi - win @ [2.96]
3.10 York - Sloop Johnb - win and place @ [9.8] & [2.82]
4.55 York - Seaway - win @ [2.78]
