Fresh from tipping Sariska in the Oaks, Carl Harris talks us through today's selections on Derby Day at Epsom.

Sariska proved that she is a tough, determined and high class filly by winning the Oaks and at a nice price too!

Now we turn our attention to the Derby (3.45) which promises to be every bit as enthralling as the fillies classic. Six from the field of 13 are trained by Aidan O'Brien who could make history by filling all the places. I doubt that will happen but it looks almost certain that the 2009 Derby winner will be trained in Ireland.

I think the race is between John Oxx's 2000 Guineas winner Sea The Stars and Fame and Glory. I backed Fame and Glory following his Ballysax stakes victory before his price collapsed after a convincing win in Ireland's premier Derby trial. The jockey arrangements have pushed him out to incredibly good odds with Johnny Murtagh opting to ride Rip Van Winkle and Seamus Heffernan keeping the ride on the Montjeu colt. I cannot see Rip Van Winkle winning the Derby and think the race is between the Guineas winner Sea The Stars, and Fame and Glory.

It is 20 years since Nashwan won the 2000 Guineas and the Derby in the same season. If Sea The Stars were to become the 35th horse in history to do the double then he would be a truly exceptional champion. From what I have seen Fame and Glory has all the attributes required to win the Derby and has followed the same route to Epsom as Aidan O'Brien took with Galileo and High Chaparral. I advise backing Fame and Glory to win the Derby at what I think are really good odds.

Although the best racing is at Epsom I will also be turning my attentions to Muselburgh where I will be backing Jaconet (3.20) who just keeps on winning, and has been raised only three pounds for her last win at Redcar. Jaconet must be a great horse to own - she has won her last three races and a career total of six wins from 14 starts is a good return on investment, not least for her backers. This is a competitive race but her form is rock solid and she will be a very good price.

Lets hope that Fame and Glory completes a classic double for us at Epsom!

Today's Bets

3.20 Musselburgh - Jaconet - win @ 7.4
3.45 Epsom - Fame and Glory - win @ 5.3
