Alan Dudman had a winner and a fourth yesterday as he goes in search of another double at York today - paying out 13/1...
"He was gelded over the winter and produced a good comeback run again at Beverley - so there's every reason to think he can improve on that."
Teona to strut her stuff in the Musidora
15:10 York - Back Teona
Few can boast a pedigree to match Noon Star, who lines up in the Musidora today and looks to hold a major chance in the big fillies' race. But there's a Sea The Stars daughter here in the shape of Teona,
Like quite a few Classic contenders these days, she won at Newcastle impressively last time by nine lengths. The 1m2f suited from her debut over shorter, and all the progeny of Sea The Stars stay well.
She's also out of Ambivalent who finished second in a Middleton here during her raced career.
Noon Star needs a mention as she is bred to win an Oaks and clocked a good time at Wetherby, but Teona at 6/4 is the pick.
Express the star of the north today?
15:40 York - Back Northern Express
Northern Express looks a nice prospect when he won on debut last season at Beverley. He travelled well to win by a small margin, but the gap to third was five lengths. After that he went to Ayr and finished second under a penalty, again in softer conditions.
He was gelded over the winter and produced a good comeback run again at Beverley - so there's every reason to think he can improve on that.
From his current mark and the way he travels in races he could be ahead of 80. And he seems adaptable in terms of ground conditions.
