"She made the winner pull out all the stops and was only just denied"
Agincourt ready for the fight
Agincourt is my idea of the winner of this interesting Listed contest.
This mare finished down the field behind Indie Angel in the Group 2 Duke Of Cambridge at Royal Ascot last month. She missed the break, and ultimately paid the price inside the final furlong. She is best judged on her previous effort when caught on the line behind Illykato in a similar event at Goodwood.
Last year she was not beaten all that far behind the brilliant Nazeef in the Falmouth. This is a competitive race, but her best effort would see her go close. At present she is trading at 4.3100/30 on the Sportsbook.
Loving to Dash home
Loving Dash should go close in this Novice Stakes.
This Lope De Vega filly put in a much improved effort when finishing second to Deep Snow at Salisbury last month. She made the winner pull out all the stops and was only just denied.
The front two finished well clear of the rest. I was impressed with her attitude, and should take another step forward. The James Fanshawe stable is in decent form, and hopefully this likeable individual can give him another winner. The 3.55/2 on the Sportsbook is more than fair.
Daily Multi-Sport Double
The first semi-final of Euro 2020 looks set to be close-fought but the odds put Italy as favourites and judged on their serene progress so far, it's hard to disagree. While Roberto Mancini's men are shorn of one of their star performers in Leonardo Spinnazola they should be able to compensate and get past a Spain team that has shown a propensity for defensive wobbles, conceding big chances in every game. You cannot say that about a backline featuring Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci in front of Gianluigi Donnarumma and the Italians are favoured in the to qualify market whether they need 90 or 120 minutes or penalties.
Tom Lacey's seven-year-old has shown a vast amount of improvement since joining the yard from Neill McCluskey over in Ireland and there's every chance he can shine on his chasing debut in Britain. Having been narrowly denied over course and distance last time out, pulling five lengths clear of third, this superb hurdler should have enough in him to get the better of Christian Williams' favourite, Goldencard, who has since gone up a further 7lb for his latest win at Fontwell. With plenty of deadwood in this race, I'm On Snap has the stamina and class to pick up his second win in just four runs for Lacey; a trainer who had a winner and second just over a week ago at today's venue.
