Two horses should improve on their debut runs according to Alan Dudman, who has a 17/1 Sportsbook Multiple bet to start the weekend...
"The step up in trip to 1m2f will suit and he can build on that opening run."
Wizard to show some magic at Thirsk
We're latching onto the early-starting card at Thirsk, although some of the races at the top of the fixture are too early for me. But I like the look of Karl Burke's Wizard D'Amour in the 1m Novice at 14:40.
He moved like a horse with plenty of ability in very testing conditions at Redcar on his debut in November and a step up to 1m today is a plus.
He'll have to be decent to beat Invincible Swagger - who is rated 87. But with quick ground and the way Wizard D'Amour travelled, he is a good price at 5/1.
Mawkeb can improve for Burrows
I tend to back Owen Burrows' horses second time out with the improvement in mind and we have a good example at Nottingham with the 4/1 on Mawkeb.
He competed in a future stayers' race at Kempton during the winter over what looked an inadequate 7f, but he stayed on well enough in a race where quite a few of the placed horses including the winner had enjoyed the benefit of a run previously.
The step up in trip to 1m2f will suit and he can build on that opening run.
