Electric Annie and Latino Fling were both easy winners yesterday to secure a winning 11/1 double, and that sets us up for Thursday's action at Gowran Park.

The James Motherway mare Rebel Ivy scored easily by 13L at Limerick last time, and I am hoping that is not a fluke and she can back up from a new mark of 117.

She struggled last season, but for the current campaign she looks an improved mare. She had a good sighter at Clonmel in November over an inadequate 2m, and finished placed in December at Punchestown when upped to 2m4f. Although the lack of pace in the race proved to be her undoing.

Her success at Limerick recently saw her relish the heavy conditions and she sliced through the pack off a good gallop. I expect her to be held up again by 2lb claimer Shane Fitzgerald, and she could the ideal set-up with testing ground and a gallop to aim at.

Taylor Swift mentioned "Dreamland" in her song "Ivy", and we could be halfway to dreamland if the first leg with Rebel goes in.

The Goffs Thyestes Chase is one of the best handicaps of the season and Thursday serves up a top-class renewal of the great race, and with the Extra Place Special on the Sportsbook for us to use the five places, I can't resist having one more go on Chris's Dream at 14/1.

I backed Henry De Bromhead's somewhat frustrating chaser last time in the Becher at Aintree. Visibility was poor and the wind was strong, and while Chris's Dream made an error at the Chair, he got back on the bridle soon after and I thought he was travelling strongly before Jonjo O'Neill's unseat at the Canal Turn and was matched at 6.05/1 in-running from his 9.517/2 price.

It's three non-completions now, so it's becoming a slight worry.

A return to Gowran Park is one positive angle; as he landed the Grade 2 Red Mills Chase here in 2020 with a lovely performance. That same season he also won the Troytown by a big margin, and was subsequently raised from 146 to 160.

He's short of Grade 1 class, that is obvious, but he's a good jumper generally and is a touch unfortunate to have two unseats next to his name. Mark Walsh takes over in the saddle and a clean round without any dramas gives me hope we can get into the first five at 14/1.
