There is a quality day of Flat racing at Newbury on Friday, and Alan Dudman is backing an 11/1 double with two potentially classy fillies on the afternoon...
"Senita's final run of 2020 was at Redcar and she won easily. I like the way she travelled there and with plenty of stamina on the dam side, going up in trip today is a good move."
The Conditions event at 15:25 looks an intriguing race with a field of depth comprising of future stayers, and I am with the Oaks entry Senita for John and Thady Gosden. Quite a few others are with her too as she was cut on the Sportsbook to 4/1 from 6/1.
She was green and showed her inexperience on her first two starts but did give Lilac Road a race at Doncaster in August - and she has come out to beat Gosden's 102-rared Kestenna easily.
Senita's final run of 2020 was at Redcar and she won in tidy fashion. I like the way she travelled there and with plenty of stamina on the dam side, going up in trip today is a good move.
Haggas to continue from Newmarket
Trainer William Haggas was in good form at Newmarket in midweek and revealed that his fillies are better than his colts this season when interviewed on RTV. Hopefully it will be Sea Karats - who is by my favourite stallion Sea The Stars.
Haggas seems to be the go-to man now for the owners of STS, especially the fillies, and at 500,000gns, she is one of the most interesting runners on the card today.
The two maiden races for fillies could throw up something really decent, and I am backing this Oaks entry to make her mark on debut.
