Find a Queen for a shock ending
Back Knockabout Queen each-way @ 18/1 in the 19:00 at Wolverhampton
Fete Champetre was the closest we got yesterday with a second, and he seems to have a thing for fences down the straight at the end of races as he belted one late on, but I doubt he would have won. However, it was by far not the worst thing I saw online yesterday as poor Peppa Pig was dragged into the political mire.
Tuesday's racing presents a lot of short price favourites, and sadly small fields, so I am taking a chance on a couple of big prices at Wolverhampton in wide-open races.
Knockabout Queen lines up in the 19:00 5f handicap and this could be anyone's race. Okaidi is the favourite, but she isn't progressing and has tried a few trips, and she's probably a short price due to the fact she finished second last time and is at least unexposed.
But Knockabout Queen goes well at Wolverhampton and has dropped a long way in the weights down to 51. Those two runs were both 6L defeats, but her latest was after a short break. She was also hassled and taken on for the lead over 6f.
She is back down to 5f tonight and has a fair draw to repeat the tactics, so that is at least a plus going for her.
Her efforts in 2021 on the turf were not a complete lost cause as she finished second at both Yarmouth and Chepstow, and one race she blew the start. At 18/1, she obviously has to find something, but she hasn't been with her new trainer Mick Herrington for long so could improve, and we do have the Extra Place Special on the Sportsbook - which is something on a day with not many runners.
A little Life bet can boost our multiple
Back Lancashire Life @ 11/2 in the 19:30 at Wolverhampton
The second selection is another risky one, but in a race where Qaaraat is going off favourite, then it is winnable. He hasn't won in 27 races, so he is worth taking on.
First Verse came under consideration as she is unexposed at least and posted her best run on the all-weather at Chelmsford, but I worry if she is quick enough for the drop back down to 5f.
One horse that could suit tonight's set-up is Lancashire Life. She is very in and out but she made all in a better 0-65 at Newcastle last month from a basement mark of 46, and she is drawn in one under the excellent Faye McManoman who can still claim.
She tried to repeat the tactics at Musselburgh on her last outing, but she weakened out of it in the soft conditions.
Lancashire Life has acted on the track before when finishing third in July, although she ran loose beforehand and played up which ruined her chance to dominate, but she did make up ground from the back to finish placed in the same grade.
