Alan Dudman fancies two Godolphin runners at Newmarket for his enhanced 9/1 double, while the betting.betfair team have a horse and a footy team for their 18/1 multi-sport wager...
"With a pacey pedigree he was mentioned as a Royal Ascot contender, but Appleby decided to wait and targeted today's Superlative straight after his win. The trainer also has a fine record in today's race."
Fleet looks a royal bet for Charlie
Godolphin trainer Charlie Appleby has an endless supply of talented 3yos it seems, and the Dubawi stock are limitless.
We have another in the shape of Royal Fleet - who is unbeaten in two starts so far and goes handicapping for the first time at Newmarket today.
He followed up his debut success at Kempton with an even better display at Yarmouth in a race where plenty of the big Newmarket trainers had runners. He was still a little green but he looked impressive.
Appleby is operating at 32% at the moment, and while Royal Fleet is a short price, he looks well in on his mark of 93.
Get on the Native trail
Not the most original selections today with two fancied runners as the second pick is another Appleby horse in Native Trail.
He swiftly moves up in class today following a most impressive debut success at Sandown skipping away by over four lengths. He was niggled in that but as soon as he picked up, he was gone in a flash.
With a pacey pedigree he was mentioned as a Royal Ascot contender, but Appleby decided to wait and targeted today's Superlative straight after his win. The trainer also has a fine record in today's race. He holds a Group 1 entry in September.
Daily Multi-Sports Double
Ilaraab made it six wins on the bounce when running out a facile winner of a competitive 1m4f handicap at this venue on his seasonal reappearance, a performance that resulted him going off among the favourites for the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot last month. He was slightly disappointing that day, but he met trouble in running at a crucial stage and can easily be forgiven his below par run.
William Haggas' improving 4yo still looks like a horse to keep on the right side of, especially now stepping up to 1m6f at a venue where he's previously proved his effectiveness. Ilaraab is officially rated just 3lb shy of today's favourite Hukum, who finished ahead of him at Royal Ascot last time, but it's not at all difficult to envisage him turning the tables here given his progressive profile and today's extra two furlongs possibly eliciting more improvement.
Malmo are enjoying a good run in the Allsvenskan - Sweden's top flight - and are level second to leaders Djurgarden only on goal difference. Jon Dahl Tomasson's team have won three of their last four in the league and a Saturday afternoon match at home to IK Sirius should yield another three points.
Antonio-Mirko Colak has been in great form for the hosts, with six goals in his last nine appearances, including a brace in his previous league outing. He's one reason why Malmo are the division's top scorers.
Mind you, they are less impressive at the back and have the third worst defensive record in the league, shipping 16 in nine. They haven't kept a single clean sheet in the league this season so there is reason to believe that Sirius, who have drawn a blank just twice this term, will be able to notch at the Eleda Stadium.
For that reason, I'm going to back Malmo to win and both teams to score @ 17/10
