Alan Dudman has an enhanced 20/1 double in Essex this evening, while goals are expected in the Nations League clash between Belgium and France...
"Her sire (Mizzen Mast) has an 18% strike-rate with progeny at Chelmsford and it looks as though the step up to 7f will suit too."
Amirat can make the favourite work hard
Amirat Alward hasn't quite been written off, but 4/1 against the favourite's price of 6/4 (High Velocity) almost feels like she has after disappointing at Windsor.
However, her debut run was interesting at Lingfield earlier in the summer as she completely blew the start missing 10L, yet still finished second. The pace was fairly even and she had a ton of ground to make up with 2f to go and she moved fairly easily to make up the lost lengths.
Her second outing at Windsor and her start was in complete contrast, as she was away quickly but folded tamely - so she has been running races the wrong way around. The run could have been too soon following her debut, or she has just been given a bit of time as she has been off since.
She gets 5lb from High Velocity and her trainer Richard Hughes has been in good form of late - mainly with his horses on the all-weather.
Don't Miz out on a winner with Guest
I'll be opposing the favourite of Roger Varian's in Flora Finch at 7/5. She shaped well at Newcastle but the time wasn't spectacular, even though a couple of winners have come out of the race since.
The Varian stable isn't exactly in blistering form either with just two winners from their last 40 sent out. It's not a yard I find easy to read. I am turning to Rae Guest.
Mizzen Mast shaped well on her debut at Yarmouth over 6f just three weeks ago. Although she had no chance with the winner who displayed a good turn of foot, Mizzen You was caught out wide with a certain amount of greenness, but she didn't run on again in the closing stages despite seeing plenty of daylight.
Her sire (Mizzen Mast) has an 18% strike-rate with progeny at Chelmsford and it looks as though the step up to 7f will suit too.
Daily Multi-Sports Double
Timeform says: "Storm Home showed much improved form to belatedly get off the mark over fences at Uttoxeter in June and he followed up from a 10lb higher mark over the same course and distance the following month. He has been hit by another 12lb rise in the weights, but he is clearly thriving at present, and is taken to complete a hat-trick."
James Eastham says: "The front-foot football Belgium play in every game under Martinez should ensure Belgium cause France problems at some point. In Romelu Lukaku, the underdogs boast a striker that has scored 27 times in his last 26 internationals. The potential for attacks to be stronger than defences on both sides makes going high an appealing option on the goals markets."
