14:20 - JIMMY BELL (6) appeals as the most solid option for Placepot purposes after two good efforts back from a break, though there are plenty of dangers, including Cinderfella, who could flourish now handicapping for a new yard. American Life and recent Fflos Las runner-up Cornelius Socks are others to keep an eye on.
14:50 - HERESMYNUMBER (5) has dipped below his last winning mark on his return to fences and is fancied to take advantage, 2 lb clear of the field on weight-adjusted ratings. Big Time Frank heads the list of dangers under Richard Johnson, who has a 22% strike rate at Chepstow in recent seasons, along with Pine Warbler, who is best forgiven his below-par effort at Exeter last time (no threat after a very slow jump five out).
15:25 - ANTUNES (1) was well backed and duly got back on the up when third in handicap company at Newbury last time, holding every chance at the final flight and keeping on well thereafter to be beaten a little over a length. That form looks strong for a race of its type - the second and ninth both won next-time-out - and Antunes would appear to hold sound claims of resuming winning ways himself here, 4 lb clear of the field on weight-adjusted ratings and representing the Dan Skelton yard that continues in top form, highlighted by its double at last week's Cheltenham Festival.
16:00 - MCNAMARAS BAND (8) has twice shaped with plenty of promise over hurdles upon returning from a lengthy absence this winter, keeping on for third under considerate handling behind Dickie Diver at Chepstow in February. He retains a good deal of potential and is selected to come out on top. Mercy Mercy Me and Glen Vine are also fancied to feature.
16:30 - LORD BRYAN (2) ran creditably when third in a much higher grade than this at Sandown last time, outpaced from four out but keeping on steadily thereafter to be beaten less than ten lengths. Sean Bowen's mount should be much more in his comfort zone in this penultimate leg of the Placepot, dropping back into 0-120 company, and the case to be made for him is an obvious one, unbeaten in two chase starts over C&D and now on a mark 2 lb lower than when recording the latest of them in April.
17:05 - TEGEREK (6) can boast sold form in his qualifying runs, and following a promising first effort in handicaps at Newbury last month, is taken to make a leap forward tackling this new trip. Liosduin Bhearna showed a willing attitude when successful at Ayr and is feared most, though Shaw's Cross and Dandolo du Gite are also interesting.
