Timeform on Bombshell Bay

14:10 - The ones with experience don't set an exacting standard, so it could pay to focus on the newcomers, with SUMMER BLOSSOM (8), Aussie View and Welcoming all making plenty of appeal on paper. The first-named filly was resold for €160,000 as a yearling and holds a listed entry, so gets the vote for a yard that have made a good start with their juveniles.

14:45 - Unlike the majority of his rivals, BOMBSHELL BAY (13) has some recent winning form, which counts for plenty at this level, and he could be up to following up. Admittedly, he was only second past the post that day, but subsequently awarded the race in the steward's room. Deservedly so too, bumped over a furlong out by the first past the post over a furlong out and again well inside the final furlong. Still relatively lightly raced, he looks the most solid option in this line-up.

15:15 - KACHUMBA (7) showed much-improved form to get off the mark at Brighton two weeks ago and will remain of interest from a 2 lb higher mark. It could have been the switch to turf which brought about the improvement and is worth siding with to confirm that. Handicap debutant THUNDER NORTH (6) also needs keeping on side, though. He showed little in three starts last season, but is bred to be much better than an opening mark of 65, and his stable had one with a similar profile win at Leicester on Monday evening.

15:45 - Not an easy race to form a strong opinion, but OPERATIVE (1) would have finished a lot closer on his recent reappearance at Nottingham with a clear run, so he could be the way to go. Satchville Flyer is a course regular and a big threat, while Global Tango is perhaps the pick of the three-year-old quartet.

16:20 - MIDNIGHT MOOD (8) has started the season in form and is only 2 lb higher for winning at Lingfield 10 days ago. That rise in the weights could well underestimate her and she is preferred to Iconic Belle, who had a fair bit in hand when belatedly off the mark at Yarmouth last week and has to be respected under a penalty. All-weather regular Sunshineandbubbles is potentially well treated back on turf.

16:55 - ALMOGHARED (8) showed plenty to work on when runner-up at Salisbury on debut last month and this half-brother to connections' Oaks winner Taghrooda should prove tough to beat with improvement forthcoming, while Podemos wasn't seen to best effect on his comeback and is worth another chance to confirm debut promise.

17:25 - BID ADIEU (1) caught the eye on his second start for this yard at Windsor 2 weeks ago and could be the answer in this lesser race. The Last Debutante showed much-improved form when making a winning turf debut at Doncaster 12 months ago and is another to note on her first outing since.
