Timeform take you through the card at Chepstow on Friday evening...
"...she remains potentially well treated judged on the pick of her all-weather form..."
Timeform on Dashing Poet
17:55 - SFUMATO (1) took a step back in the right direction when third at Hamilton last time and might be worth siding with now dropping into a 0-70 for the first time, with the return to six furlongs likely to see him in an even better light. Gilmer is another whose mark has slipped and is of some interest on his first run for Stef Keniry, particularly if the betting speaks for him. Beau Mistral is also considered.
18:25 - AXEL JACKLIN (2) sets a clear standard in this second leg of the Placepot judged on the pick of his efforts, including when chasing home the promising Usain Boat at Newmarket last month, and Mark Johnston's charge should really take all the beating if bouncing back from a pair of lesser performances at Haydock and Hamilton. The newcomer Dutch Treat and Balata Bay, who should improve from his debut run at Wolverhampton, are the most likely to pick up the pieces if the selection fails to come up to scratch.
19:00 - DASHING POET (5) proved better than ever when taking advantage of her lower turf mark at Haydock last month, staying on to lead inside the final furlong and ultimately going away at the finish. Heather Main's charge has a 4 lb rise in the weights to contend with this evening, but she remains potentially well treated judged on the pick of her all-weather form and looks sure to go very well in her follow-up bid, likely to be well served by the return to a mile, too. Love And Be Love and Accomplice look best of the rest.
19:30 - NUTINI (6) was unable to reel in the pace-setting Harry Beau at Brighton last week, but it would be no surprise if he were to bridge the three-length deficit and reverse the placings here. Indeed, the winner had the benefit of track position under a clever tactical ride from Silvestre de Sousa last time, but Nutini is 6 lb better off at the weights here, with the promising Jason Watson taking another 5 lb off his back, and Malcolm Saunders knows what it takes to win this fourth leg of the Placepot, having done so in 2011 and 2013.
20:05 - SWENDAB (3) has been quiet of late following a purple patch on the all-weather to end 2017, but he's back on a good mark and is fully effective over this C&D, so should take some stopping if getting away on terms (sometimes slowly away and is best when ridden prominently). Recent C&D winner Quantum Dot and Awesome Allan, who was not beaten far when fifth at Lingfield last time, head the list of dangers.
20:35 - QUEEN OF CONNAUGHT (3) never really threatened when fifth in the listed Oaks Trial at Lingfield last month (outpaced before running on), but that still represented a clear career-best effort and this is nothing like as competitive - indeed, Michael Bell's charge is 9 lb clear of the field on weight-adjusted ratings. She is a confident selection to sign us off with a winner in the Placepot, though Tolkyn, Outlane and Here's Alice are all promising in their own right, too.
21:05 - BID ADIEU (1) posted another solid effort when runner-up in a course handicap three weeks ago, and this could be a good opportunity for him from the same mark. Saxo Jack has the ability to win a race like this if he's in the mood, with Vincent's Forever another to consider.
