With 12 days to go until the Cheltenham Festival 2016 begins, the Follow The Money team focus on the eye-catching antepost prices and major moves some shrewd punters have been lucky enough to get involved with.

"In the Gold Cup, Don Cossack hasn’t been short of supporters, smashed all the way from 80.079/1 to 5.39/2.

The Champion Hurdle market has been blown wide open following the injuries to the two market principals, Faugheen and Arctic Fire. Although it's sad for the festival to have lost many people's banker, Faugheen, it does turn the race into a much more competitive betting heat.

The two major moves off the back of the withdrawals are Annie Power, backed from 350.0349/1 all the way in to 3.55/2 favourite, and the gamble developing on The New One, originally available at 42.041/1 into a still contracting 7.413/2.

Annie Power would undoubtedly bring the star quality to the opening day's feature race but she requires supplementing. Willie Mullins has suggested publicly this is more than likely to be the case and when officially declared she will go even shorter.

The New One got a vote of confidence when Sam Twiston-Davies revealed he had chosen to partner his father's charge over Old Guard and very positive vibes are emanating from the yard. Nigel Twiston-Davies is bullish about his chances, declaring: "He's in great shape, still big and strong, and I think the Champion Hurdle is the perfect race for him."

Thistlecrack in the World Hurdle is another we would have loved to have been on early doors, backed from 38.037/1 into 2.226/5, and he looks ready to set the festival alight. Unbeaten this season, he has reportedly been working brilliantly at home, and if Colin Tizzard's comments are anything to go by he is the best horse out there over three miles.

In the Gold Cup, Don Cossack hasn't been short of supporters, smashed all the way from 80.079/1 to 5.39/2. Among those singing his praises is Sir Anthony McCoy who had the pleasure of guiding him through a schooling session last week. AP declared he would love to be riding him: "If I had the choice of any horse, he'd be the one I'd ride." You can't get a much better endorsement than from the 20 time champion jockey and the buzz around the horse suggests he's the one to be on.
