Timeform take you through the card at Chelsmford on Tuesday evening...

"She flopped in listed company over C&D last time but is much better judged on her AW handicapping form from early-2018."

Timeform on Star Quality

17:45 - HARD TASKMASTER (5) has been much improved since the visor has gone on and might be up to defying the handicapper again (now 9 lb higher than last win). Rollicking has been consistent in nurseries and should go well again if taking to the AW, while So Hi Class was improved with the blinkers on last time and can figure again. Preference for a second string, though, is for STORM SHELTER (2), who was bred to improve for this longer trip and has duly done so on his last two starts, winning well over C&D last time.

18:15 - Handmaiden hasn't been seen for a couple of months but the form she showed when runner-up twice at Newmarket in the summer could good enough to win a race like this. However, there are a couple of question marks, and instead the play is to side with MAWAHIB (6) and STARRY EYES (7) who are both likely to build on promising debuts in recent weeks.

18:45 - Timeform 'Horse In Focus' AMERICAN ENDEAVOUR (5) was left with too much to do when chasing home Hic Bibi over C&D 10 days ago and, 5 lb better off with that rival now, she should emerge on top this time if proving more alert from the gates (reared last time). Hic Bibi's hit-and-miss profile suggests that she's far from certain to reproduce that level of performance and bigger threats may be posed by Sonnet Rose and Rux Ruxx.

19:15 - This is tougher than the Epsom handicap DESERT FROST (2) won last month, but he's only gone up 3 lb and still has low mileage. He handled tapeta with aplomb when second at Newcastle during the spring and should prove a tough nut to crack back up in trip here if proving equally effective on polytrack. Insurgence is 2-3 on the AW and is respected along with Commander Han and Repton, but it's STAR QUALITY (11) who gets the nod as a second selection despite her wide draw. She flopped in listed company over C&D last time but is much better judged on her AW handicapping form from early-2018.

19:45 - The William Haggas-trained DREAM DESERT (1) gets the vote but fellow newcomers Habub, Muneyra, who is a stablemate of the selection, and Tamerlane all make appeal on paper and the market is sure to provide more clues as to expectations. The shortest in the betting is Muneyra, a sister to the very smart winner up to 1m Lucky Nine, but the value could lie with her already-gelded stablemate.

20:15 - Only 5 lb separated the field on weight-adjusted Timeform ratings, but the one who appeals most is IT'S ALL A JOKE (4), who made a positive start for this yard when runner-up at Kempton. Off the same mark here, he remains on a handy rating based on his peak form in Ireland. Blessed To Empress wasn't disgraced when fourth off 2 lb higher over C&D last time and should be in the mix, while the hat-trick seeking Indian Pursuit and Capla Demon are others with leading claims.

20:45 - GEMINI had plenty in hand at Bath last week and should be tough to beat turned out unpenalised. Lyford gained reward for some good efforts of late when scoring here last time and should go well again, while Seinesational can figure if coping with a third outing in quick succession.
