17:45 - WILSON (1) looked a useful prospect when getting off the mark at Brighton earlier this month and that form leaves him well clear of those with previous experience on Timeform ratings. He is a confident selection to follow up in this opening leg of the Placepot. Laytown showed something to work on when seventh at Wolverhampton on debut and is selected for the forecast.

18:15 - JUPITER (10) ran as well as ever when chasing home a pair of useful sorts at Lingfield last time and makes his handicap bow from what looks a fair enough mark here. He should prove extremely difficult to beat if arriving in the same mood, although Joe's Spirit made all in good style over C&D last time and should give the selection plenty to think about, along with recent Chester winner Shaya.

18:45 - GLASSALT (3) showed much improved form when third on his handicap debut at Yarmouth last month, and left the impression a step up to this trip would see him in an even better light. Indeed, he kept on gamely in the closing stages that day to be beaten just three and a quarter lengths and Michael Bell's charge would appear to hold sound claims if making the expected progress here, with the yard's runners generally running well at present. Starshell heads the list of dangers in first-time cheekpieces.

19:15 - MERRY BANTER (8) had the worst of the draw when last of 10 at Chester last time and looks well treated on the pick of her efforts this season. She is fancied to gain a belated first win of the year in this fourth leg of the Placepot. Bashiba is a threat if proving as effective on the all-weather, while Royal Mezyan is capable off his current mark.

19:45 - FRANK'S LEGACY (11) went close - beaten just a neck - over this C&D on Tuesday and has to be taken seriously turned out quickly off the same mark. Tulip Dress and Touch of Color can also make their presence felt.

20:15 - PRINCE JAI (10) was a determined winner over this C&D on Tuesday, leading under the pressure as the field entered the final two furlongs before finding plenty to hold off the sustained challenge of the aforementioned Frank's Legacy. The quick turnaround is an obvious concern, but he escapes a penalty for that success here and should prove extremely difficult to beat for the Ian Williams yard. My Girl Maisie is progressive and can give the selection most to do following a good second at Pontefract.

20:45 - MIGHTY LADY (1) is a C&D winner and returned to form when third on her most recent outing at Wolverhampton. She is fancied to regain the winning thread with a defeat of Millie's Kiss if building on the promise of that effort here.

21:15 - ENNJAAZ (1) is 5 lb clear on Timeform ratings on the back of a good second over C&D three weeks ago and rates the clear one to beat in the finale, with the possibility of more to come in first-time cheekpieces.

Recommendation:

Win back GLASSALT in the 18:45 at Chelmsford

Placepot permutation:

17:45 - 1
18:15 - 10
18:45 - 3
19:15 - 8
