Timeform on Mudallel

17:15 - MOON KING (4) shaped with more promise than before when seven lengths third on his nursery debut at Nottingham last week and ought to go close if building on that now up in trip in a first-time visor. Calling The Wind is feared most ahead of Delectable.

17:45 - RED OCTOBER (4) is likely to be seen in a brighter light over longer trips, but the form of his second at Kempton last time is comfortably the best on offer in this second leg of the Placepot - a race Hugo Palmer is attempting to win for the third year in succession - and he is difficult to oppose. Wise Ruler and Snow Storm head the list of dangers.

18:15 - Harry Bentley has a 38% strike rate when riding favourites and he can add to that here with FRAGRANT DAWN (2), who went close to making a winning debut at Newmarket two weeks ago, despite showing clear signs of greenness, and sets a decent standard with improvement forthcoming. Arctic Ocean also made a pleasing debut on the Rowley Mile and can give the selection most to do.

18:45 - ROBIN WEATHERS (5) was well backed and shaped encouragingly after eight weeks off when dead-heating for second at Lingfield last time, forced to come wide on the home turn before finishing strongly to get within a length and a half of the winner. That form gives him the edge over Envisaging on weight-adjusted ratings here and, with the prospect of more to come on just his third start for the Eve Johnson Houghton yard, Robin Weathers would appear to hold sound claims of going one better, especially if getting away on terms under Edward Greatrex (sometimes slowly away).

19:15 - A three-length winner of his penultimate outing over C&D, PLENTYINTHETANKSIR (5) had a 7-lb claimer offsetting an 8 lb rise in the weights at Newcastle last time and very nearly followed up, with only an overly patient ride - one that saw his jockey receive a 10-day ban - proving his undoing on the day. David Simcock's charge certainly showed enough that he is up to winning again, even after a further 2 lb rise in the weights, and he is a confident selection for Placepot purposes as he attempts to get back to winning ways under Jamie Spencer.

19:45 - MUDALLEL (3) put a couple of lesser efforts behind him when second on his most recent outing at Newcastle, albeit with the benefit of a good position, always prominent in a slowly-run race and keeping on well to be beaten just three quarters of a length. That form sets the standard on weight-adjusted ratings here - the first 0-80 he has run in since recording back-to-back wins at Kempton last season - and Ed Dunlop's charge would appear to hold sound claims of getting back to winning ways, still only 2 lb higher than when also landing a C&D event in August.

20:15 - MAGWADIRI (7) hasn't yet made a serious impact for his new yard, but he's on a handy mark, shaped better than the result last time, and should get a solid pace to run at here, so he's marginally preferred to the in-form pair Mezmaar and Fieldsman in this open-looking, low-grade handicap.

20:45 - KELTIE (5), Smart Champion and Toshima are all twice-raced last-time-out scorers with the potential to improve again, so separating them isn't easy, but they are preferred in that order with the Gosden filly expected to relish this trip.
