"He looks a good option here now down in grade..."

12:30 - SWASHBUCKLE (8) was a useful stayer on the Flat and looks an interesting recruit to the hurdling ranks for a yard that can do little wrong at present. He has course experience courtesy of his second in a maiden here in 2016, and is sure to get a positive ride (front runner on the Flat) which should see him to good effect in this scenario, though his future will more than likely lie over a fair bit further than this.

13:05 - The interesting one is the unexposed CUP OF AMBITION (3), who went with plenty of enthusiasm on his chasing debut in a novice at Leicester last time, up with a strong pace throughout. There is definitely room for improvement with his jumping, but this should provide less of a test in that department, and in a race lacking unexposed sorts, he makes appeal.

13:35 - MILLEN DOLLAR MAN (6) had winning form for his former trainer in Ireland not so long ago (May 2017) and the booking of James Bowen along with the drop in the weights/grade could well prove significant (attracting market support this morning). MR MAFIA (3) ran well in a much better race than this at Doncaster last time (fourth) and is also worth including.

14:05 - The pick of the weights is undoubtedly LAKE FIELD (5), who thanks to a good bit of placement from his yard escapes a penalty for his breakthrough chasing victory at Newbury last week. Anything near a repeat of his 18-length success would see him win this comfortably.

14:40 - COTTERSROCK (2) has been given a big chance by the handicapper, dropped some 25 lb from his opening mark over fences, and he looks a good option here now down in grade, having shaped as though building up to something on his last couple of runs over hurdles.

15:15 - Things have really clicked with TRIOPAS (5) recently, winning three of his last four, and after posting a career-best at Towcester seven days ago, he should be hard to stop under a penalty if in the same sort of form.

Recommendation:

Win back COTTERSROCK (2) in the 14:40 at Catterick

Placepot permutation:

12:30 - 8
13:05 - 3
13:35 - 3, 6
14:05 - 5
14:40 - 2
15:15 - 5
