"...chased home Frodon in this 12 months ago and is taken to go one better now..."

Timeform on Cepage

1. Cepage (Venetia Williams/Charlie Deutsch)
Second to Frodon in this race last year and posted a career best when returning from 11 months off to finish runner-up at Aintree 5 weeks ago. That form boosted since. Big player.

2. Keeper Hill (Warren Greatrex/A. P. Heskin)
Lost confidence over fences in 2017/18 but did well over hurdles last term and got chase career back on track when landing small-field event on Haydock return. This will test his jumping more, though.

3. Riders Onthe Storm (Non-runner)

4. Secret Investor (Paul Nicholls/Harry Cobden)
Grade 2 novice chase winner last term and did set himself up nicely for this season when runner-up in Down Royal Grade 2 on reappearance. More to come and yard has very good record in this.

5. Lalor (Kayley Woollacott/Aidan Coleman)
Grade 1 hurdle winner. Looked set to do as well over fences when landing course Grade 2 last November but he's frustrated since, jumping with little fluency on Exeter return. Cheekpieces need to help.

6. Benatar (Gary Moore/Joshua Moore)
Good third in listed Ascot handicap last December but off since a below-par effort back there the following month. Has gone well fresh before, though. Hooded first time.

7. Robin des Foret (Willie Mullins, Ireland/James Bowen)
Three novice wins last season and rounded off his campaign with good second in 3m Limerick Grade 3 in March. Fitness unlikely to be an issue on reappearance given who trains him.

8. Imperial Presence (Philip Hobbs/Richard Johnson)
Completed a hat-trick over fences in 2018. Shaped better than result when fourth in C&D handicap in April but he's yet to get going this season.

9. Spiritofthegames (Dan Skelton/Bridget Andrews)
Smart chaser at his best but pulled up in BetVictor on course reappearance and well held at Newbury since. Bit to prove for the time being.

10. Knocknanuss (Gary Moore/Jamie Moore)
Shaped encouragingly on 2m course return in October and best to put a line through subsequent run at Ascot (went off too hard in blinkers and also unsuited by right-handed track).

11. Clondaw Castle (Tom George/Jonathan Burke)
Matched useful hurdle form when winning twice over fences last term. Not quite so good as return second might suggest (10 lengths down when left with every chance last) but unexposed now up in trip.

12. Brelan d'As (Paul Nicholls/Barry Geraghty)
Third in Grand Annual at Festival and once again showed he's suited to demands of big-field handicaps here when narrowly denied by Happy Diva in BetVictor on return. Up 5 lb but still respected.

13. Good Man Pat (Alan King/Tom Cannon)
Useful sort who made an encouraging return to action when fourth over 3m at Ascot last month, leaving the impression the outing was just needed. Another who can't be discounted.

14. Generous Day (Henry Oliver/James Davies)
Wide-margin winner at Warwick in March and showed benefit of hurdle reappearance when improving again to make successful return to chasing at Kempton recently. Up in class but he's going right way.

15. Warthog (David Pipe/David Noonan)
Quickly made up into a useful chaser last term and gave himself a solid platform for the new campaign when third (Brelan D'As 8 lengths ahead in second) in BetVictor here last month.

16. Not That Fuisse (Dan Skelton/Harry Skelton)
Matched useful hurdle form when runner-up on first 2 chase starts (2m here latterly). Shade disappointing when only fourth at Warwick latest but no surprise were he to get back on track now.
