"He's likely to strip fitter for that, and has leading claims for the in-form Paul Nicholls..."

Timeform on Dolos

12:55 - This looks an excellent opportunity for CLONDAW ANCHOR (3) to get off the mark over hurdles at the second attempt. He showed plenty when finishing second on hurdling debut at Warwick in May, leading on the bridle around the home turn before not quickening on the run-in, and he is the clear form pick. Bumper-winner Highland Hunter is a decent jumping prospect and can pose the main threat.

13:30 - A fascinating novice chase, considering that several of these were useful over hurdles. VINNDICATION (13) is the pick of the bunch on hurdling form, and his decisive victory at Huntingdon in February, when taking control of a listed contest, and he could well develop into a leading novice provided he takes to jumping. Red Rising is a real chasing type and is next on the list ahead of Euxton Lane and Uncle Alastair.

14:05 - An open-looking affair, in which it looks worth chancing TROOBLUE (7). She was disappointing on her reappearance at Kelso last month, but that can be ignored, considering she was dropped out and had yet to be asked for her effort when stumbling badly on the home turn. Eased 7 lb for that run, she appeals as the best handicapped of these. Keep The River remains open to improvement, but whether this drop back in trip is what she wants remains to be seen. Consequently, bigger threats may be posed by Russian Royale and Hidden Dilemma.

14:35 - Despite having just one win to his name from five starts last season, DOLOS (2) proved to be a smart novice chaser, running well in several valuable handicaps. He shaped encouragingly when second on his return at Newton Abbot last month, too, caught in a poor position when the winner made his decisive move early in the final circuit, before staying on well and having no extra only close home. He's likely to strip fitter for that, and has leading claims for the in-form Paul Nicholls team, which has an excellent strike rate with chasers over this distance.

15:10 - INSTANT REPLAY (2) was a progressive chaser last season, and his reappearance over hurdles at Carlisle last month looked nothing more than a pipe-opener. He still looks to be on a workable mark with more improvement to come, and gets the vote to return to winning ways. Return Flight hinted at a revival last time while Calivigny should be thereabouts again.

15:40 - MR SCRUMPY (1) was impressive when getting off the mark at the second time of asking at Hexham last month, relishing the testing conditions and running out an emphatic ten length winner. With the benefit of experience under his belt, he is the percentage call over the expensive Irish point recruit Weakfield, and the Olly Murphy runner I K Brunel.
