Timeform on False ID

Timeform take you through the card at Brighton on Tuesday...

13:50 - An open-looking first race on the card, in which it could be worth chancing ARZAAK (5) to return to form. He's finished down the field on each of his three starts so far this term, but he's probably in better heart than that form suggests - not being seen to best effect on his most recent start at Chelmsford earlier this month, having to make his challenge wide down the straight. Now below his last winning mark, he can strike here. Crystal Deauville shaped well over a trip too far on his return here 10 days ago and is next best ahead of Shamshon.

14:25 - AUDIO (2) is a speedily bred two-year-old, and made a positive start to his career when finishing third on debut at Kempton 10 days ago, faring best of the newcomers but leaving the impression that he didn't have the experience to cope with a sharp, right-handed track first time out. He will have learned plenty from that, though, and looks to have a fine chance of getting off the mark at the second attempt here with more improvement on the cards. Copacabana Dancer confirmed debut promise when winning at Chelmsford and is the obvious threat.

14:55 - Likely to prove a tight four-runner contest, but the one who stands out is AGENT BASTERFIELD (4). He's improved with each of his five starts so far, producing his best effort yet to finish second at Yarmouth seven days ago over a furlong shorter. He seems more than ready for a longer trip, meaning the extra furlong should suit, and is fancied to open his account at the fifth attempt. Nabbeyl rates the principal threat after a solid reappearance effort earlier this month, ahead of Autumn Pride.

15:25 - All six fillies look to have solid claims here, though none look more solid than GEETANJALI (4). She was an ultra-consistent performer last season, and signed off with a career-best effort to win at Sandown under Silvestre De Sousa last September; coming off a strong gallop and winning going away. Admittedly, there's a only weak pace forecast here, but Geetanjali has raced prominently in the past and considering she generally runs her race, it would be no surprise to see her give this a good go on reappearance. Sweet Charity is an in-form filly to consider, while Ashazuri is lurking on an attractive mark.

15:55 - FALSE ID (2) is absolutely thriving, and arrives here having completed a double at Leicester three days ago, quickly taking control of things once kicking clear three furlongs out. He's been hit with a 5 lb penalty for that, but is more than capable of shrugging that off considering the form he's in at the moment, and he can complete the hat-trick. Kafeel took a marked step back in the right direction last time so would be a big threat if building on that, while Sharp Operator is another capable of making his presence felt at this level.

16:25 - Another tricky race to decode, but preference is for BBOB ALULA (1), who signed off last season in good heart, kicking for home too soon when fourth on his most recent start at Newbury last September, and he's run well after a break in the past. The British Lion isn't the most reliable of performers, but is feared most, ahead of He's Our Star.

17:00 - It's been a long time since LIGHT OF AIR (3) last got his nose in front, over slightly further at this track back in May 2017, but his mark is beginning to slide (8 lb below last winning mark), and he shaped with plenty of promise when second on reapperance at Lingfield last month, when his inexperienced rider was unable to get to the bottom of him. He has races in him from this sort of mark, though, and gets the vote to return to winning ways. Lunar Deity fluffed the start here last time but was in winning form prior to that, while Duke of North is worth a go at this trip.
