Nick Shiambouros hopes to start the new week with a couple of winners from Ludlow...
"He clearly has ability and will be a different proposition on hurdles debut"
Time to Rock
12:35 Ludlow - Rock On Tiger
Rock On Tiger should go close in this interesting maiden hurdle.
This gelding caught the eye on hurdles debut when finishing third to Book Of Invasions at Huntingdon . He put in some good work in the closing stages, and finished the race with good energy. I think he is open to significant improvement and is fairly priced at 4.67/2 on the exchange.
Not surprisingly The Newest One heads the market at 2.962/1. This well related individual comes from the family of The New One. He finished a respectable fourth to Time Flies By in a bumper at Cheltenham last month, and should have more to offer on hurdles debut. He is the obvious danger, but I think the selection will be a tough nut to crack.
Waitonit not for stopping
13:40 Ludlow - Waitonit
Waitonit is my idea of the winner of this novices' hurdle.
This gelding was heavily backed in a bumper at Worcester last month, but disappointed behind Wayfinder. He held every chance two from home, but folded tamely and finished well beaten. He previously contested an Irish point, and was in command when falling at the last. He clearly has ability and will be a different proposition on hurdles debut. At present he is trading at 8.07/1 but could trade shorter near the off.
Hurricane Harvey was a little unlucky when finishing second to Do Wanna Know at Huntingdon earlier this month. He met interference three from home, but recovered to finish strongly and was only just denied. He must be respected but is priced accordingly at 2.526/4.
