Alan's each way selection yesterday finished second at 12/1, he is looking to go one better today with two selections from Brighton and Newcastle...
"He was not disgraced here last time out over one mile two furlongs, finishing third just beaten under two lengths."
Cricklewood Green is running today off 16lbs lower than his last winning mark
Cricklewood Green is a seven time winner, that is owned and trained by Sylvester Kirk and while he may not have been in the winners enclosure for some time (13 races to be exact), he was not disgraced here last time out over one mile two furlongs where he finished third just beaten under two lengths. He has been dropped another 1lb from the handicapper for that effort and he is now running 16lbs below his last winning handicap mark, which was in a class 4 handicap at Ascot back in July 2017. He was given a very good ride last time by Jason Watson (claiming 3lbs) and Jason gets the leg up again today.
Imbucato may be the one to give the selection the most to do from the Tony Carroll yard, he enjoys it round here having won twice recently but he is running from a career high mark today and this looks tougher than his latest wins, so will have to improve again. Another that could be involved in the business end is Hedging who made an encouraging seasonal reappearance after a break of 183 days when winning here in April but he hasn't yet been able to follow up that success in his eight starts since.
My Ukulele can make it back-to-back wins at Gosforth Park
John Quinn's two-year-old filly and daughter of Power My Ukulele broke her maiden tag at the seventh attempt when she won over today's course and distance last time out. The handicapper certainly hasn't been shy in penalising her for that success and has given her and extra 5lbs today, but she has been running well in defeat before that win and certainly looked good here last time, I think she is worth supporting again today as there could easily be more to come now that she has managed to get her head in front.
You Little Beauty could well be the one to chase the selections home after finishing a close third over today's course and distance last time out. She has to be respected if building on that effort, especially as she gets in here off a 1lb lower mark. Anne Duffield's filly certainly appreciated the addition of first time cheekpieces and the switch to an artificial surface last time and assuming she enjoys the experience again, should could be a good forecast or place choice.
