The best-looking card on Tuesday is at Hamilton, and Alan Dudman is raring to go with two bets in Scotland....
"It's worth noting the form of his yard too; as Carr is sending out plenty of winners and has hit a real hot streak. Not many of hers are running bad races at the moment."
14:30 Hamilton - Whitkirk a huge danger from low weight
The 0-60 handicap at 14:30 might not be one for any future DVD collections, and in such a bad race the market will be dominated by the only last-time-out winner in Jocks Wa Hae. But I won't go too overboard on him winning a terrible contest from a mark of 47.
The one potential lurker here could be Jedd O'Keeffe's Whitkirk. At one stage he was officially rated 36, so he would have struggled to beat his own shadow at that point. But he hasn't been with O'Keeffe for long, and he showed his first real piece of form on his latest outing at Thirsk - when finishing third in a 0-70 handicap on good to firm ground at 33/1.
The runner-up in that contest (Fort Jefferson), has gone on to hack up in heavy ground at Leicester, and this race might be considered a touch weaker.
His small yard have enjoyed a few winners this season, and Whitkirk actually ran OK at Doncaster previously. So with a mile and goodish ground, he at least has some upside and potential in a weak affair.
16:00 Hamilton - Carr form to continue with Cosmic
Quite a few of these like the track and I initially looked at Spirit Of Zeb to run his race, as he is the type that his trainer Richard Fahey usually can eke out a win with. However, Cosmic Chatter is very well-treated and has shown signs in his last two starts that he is ready to go in again.
The Ruth Carr-trained six-year-old ran in a fairly good race for the grade last time, whilst his effort prior to that came in a 0-80 handicap (today's class), and he wasn't too far away (both at Hamilton). The track suits, the ground suits, and the race might as well; as he finds after coming under a bit of pressure.
It's worth noting the form of his yard too; as Carr is sending out plenty of winners and has hit a real hot streak. Not many of hers are running bad races at the moment.
In 2014 Cosmic was rated nearly 100, so it goes without saying how well he is treated from 74 today.
