There may only be three meetings today but Alan has found two interesting selections from Lingfield and Southwell...
"the three-year-old filly can count herself unlucky not to have put her head in front in her last two races"
There is more to come from Alexis Carrington
Alexis Carrington has been beaten a neck and less than a length on her last two outings and the three-year-old filly can count herself unlucky not to have put her head in front in both races, with a bit more luck in running she would surely have won at least one of them. She stays this trip well and looks to be off a very workable mark just 1lb higher than her last two starts. She is lightly raced with just six starts under her belt and there is probably still plenty more to come.
John Quinn's charge will have to beat what looks like being an odds-on favourite if she is to get her head in front for the first time. But True Destiny from the Roger Charlton yard is yet to race over anything like this far and the three-year-old has little in his pedigree to suggests he will get two miles. I am not sure I would want to be backing him at short odds without any proven evidence that his stamina will hold.
If Prophets Prayer can jump a hurdle she could be tough to beat
This looks a really interesting Novice Hurdle and I am sure one that will be worth following for future winners, today though I like the chances of Emma Lavelle's runner Prophets Prayer. She is the only course winner in this field after scoring last time out over this trip in a bumper by two and a half lengths and that winning distance could have been even further, as Aiden Coleman, who is on board again today, eased her down to win comfortably.
She is a 5/1 chance as the four-year-old has only run in two bumpers to date so there is absolutely no public evidence as yet that she can jump a hurdle but if she can then that price looks very attractive, based on her bumper form she certainly looks like one to follow.
