Bets of the Day: Polisky can make it back-to-back wins

Polisky can take the Hunter Chase
Polisky can take the Hunter Chase

Alan hit the winners enclosure with The Mumper yesterday, today he has selected two runners from the very much in form Paul Nichols yard at Kempton...

"The nine-year-old last appeared after a break of 170 days off the course before winning, going away from the field in a similar event to this at Ascot a couple of weeks ago."

Polisky runs for the Paul Nichols team in this Hunter Chase at Kempton. The nine-year-old last appeared after a break of 170 days off the course before winning, going away from the field in a similar event to this at Ascot a couple of weeks ago. Miss B Frost was on board that day and gets the leg up again today, he beat Flaming George, that day for the second time and has also encountered and beat Best Boy Barney.

He gets in here of the same mark as that Ascot race of 121 and looks like he has Twirling Magnet to beat. The Jonjo O'Neil horse ran at the festival in the Foxhunters but finished well down the field some 57 lengths behind On The Fringe. He did then come out and run a respectable second next time out but that was in a weaker race than Polisky won at Ascot. I think at the prices Polisky is the one to be on today.

16:00 Kempton - Port Melon @ 6.86/1 Exchange

This is a highly competitive Handicap Chase over three miles but I can't get away from Port Melon at this price. He may be 6lb higher than when he won here back in November but he ran a great race after that in class 1 company at Newbury, where he finished third off a mark of 140. He gets in here off 138 and while that means he would have to put in a career best run at around 6/1 it makes him of interest.

He was rested after that Newbury race and didn't appear again until last month, where after being off the course for 117 days he ran no sort of a race at Exeter finishing last, but that was only over two miles three furlongs and he returns to three miles today.

The Paul Nichols yard are in excellent form at the minute, saddling seven winners from their last 15 runners since 16th April. They are certainly not a yard you want to be opposing at present.
