Alan Thompson is looking to finish his stint in the tipping chair on a high with two selections from Worcester and Bangor...

"Four starts over fences, finishing second twice and winning the other two."

Back Nightfly @ 10/3 in the Worcester 13:55

This race could be setup perfectly for Nightfly

Worcester 13:55

Ontopoftheworld and King Alfonso arrive here bidding for four timers, and of the two if I had to choose I would slightly favour Ontopoftheworld. However, the problem they both may have is that they both like to dictate the pace and if they get into a dual upfront, it will set this up perfectly for a closer. A closer like Charlie Longsdon's seven-year-old mare Nightfly, she could just be in the right place at the right time. She was a winner on her last start at Ludlow in May and has now run four times over fences, finishing second twice and winning the other two.

The handicapper has raised her 6lbs for that Ludlow success, but there could still be more improvement to come, she can go well fresh, her trainer's horses are usually at their best for this period of the season and she also goes well here. She has run here once before and finished a very respectable second over hurdles last year. I think there is plenty to like about the mare today and she is backed to land the spoils.

Never A Word can get his first win under rules

Bangor 17:00

The final race at Bangor today doesn't look the strongest of events to me and Oliver Greenall's charge Never A Word could be the one to take advantage of this opportunity. Although the four-year-old hasn't won under rules yet he has been placed on his last two starts and his second at this venue two starts ago looks to be solid form in the context of this race.

Cold Shoulder who travels over for Gordon Elliott and Marju's Quest, who has the assistance of Bryony Frost in the saddle are both respected. However, the former was a bit disappointing last time and will have to show more to get involved here and the eight-year-old Marju's Quest hasn't got her head in front for 22 starts, you have to go back to May 2016 to find her last success.
