Bets Of The Day: Thai Power the strong choice

Thai Power Nottingham
Today's best bet Thai Power runs at Nottingham

Nick Shiambouros returns with a couple of selections from Nottingham and Bath...

"I think he will be a different proposition today, and is fairly priced at 6.05/1 on the exchange"

Back Thai Power at 6.05/1 in the 13:55 at Nottingham

Feel the Power

13:55 Nottingham - Thai Power

I am going to give Thai Power another chance in this maiden.

This well related colt finished fourth to Mascat in a maiden at HQ last month. He lost touch when the pace lifted two furlongs from home, and finished well beaten. He is a half - brother to several winners and was an expensive yearling purchase. I think he will be a different proposition today, and is fairly priced at 6.05/1 on the exchange.

Zegalo was a little disappointing when turned over at short odds at Beverley last month. He made no impression behind Dontaskmeagain, and was beaten fair and square. He is best judged on his promising third to Cherokee Trail at Ascot. At present he is trading at 2.915/8.

Tantivy to progress

14:45 Bath - Tantivy

Tantivy should go close in this interesting novice stakes.

This colt put in a much improved effort when finishing second to Khalifa Sat at Goodwood last month. He was collared a furlong from home, but fought back well and made the winner work pretty hard. I think he is sitting on a big effort, and is attractively priced at 5.39/2 on the exchange.

Salamanca School is the favourite at 4.03/1. This colt ran well on debut when finishing third to Morisco at Ayr last month. He kept on well in the closing stages ,but never had a realistic chance of catching the winner. The extra yardage will suit and is the main danger to the selection.
