"Has shown promise behind some decent rivals in hurdle events before and this looks a weaker race"

Fields of Fortune can beat the odds on favourite

Ezanak for Dan and Harry Skelton is the one to beat on form but I want to take on the odds-on shot who just keeps finding one to get beat off. The Skelton team have been firing in the winners all summer long and this five-year-old gelding will win a race at some point but I think he may have to wait a bit longer for his win. He has has been second on his last three starts and I think he may end up there again today and I want to take him on with Fields of Fortune who was not far behind Ezanak on the flat has shown some promise over hurdles and in what looks a two horse race I prefer him today.

The Alan King trained son of Champs Elysees bounced back to form on the flat in May when third off a mark of 70 in a Goodwood handicap. He showed a bit of promise behind some decent rivals in hurdle events before that and this looks a weaker race than the ones he was fourth and fifth in. He is entitled to be involved on flat ratings and with really just one to beat he should run a big race in this company.

Club Wexford can make the best of a good draw

It's all about the start for Roger Fell's seven-year-old Club Wexford who has a plum low draw in this seven furlong race at Chester. He missed the break at Beverley last time out and as a result finished last after being allowed to come home in his own time. Prior to that though, he has won twice at Ayr and once at Haydock on both occassions he led from the start.

He gets in here 1lb better than last time off a mark of 84 and with Ben Sanderson claiming 5lb off his back he looks overpriced at 10/1. He is better than that Beverley form suggests and we will know our fate as soon as the stalls open as he has to make the running he is well drawn to do just that and only needs a decent start and at the prices he has to be given a chance.
