Alan found an 9.08/1 winner yesterday to get his week going and he is looking to keep that going with two each way selections from Uttoxeter and Plumpton...
"won four races in a row which on its own is a fantastic achievement but he won all four races in a week"
Back Too Many Diamonds Each Way @ 15/2 in the 16:50 Plumpton
Too Many Diamonds is an incredible horse, he was purchased out of a seller at Taunton in April and moved to Dan Skelton, he then won four races in a row which on its own is a fantastic achievement but he won all four races in a week. Of course the handicapper has since got hold of the six-year-old and he was raised significantly for those wins, but he has competed well in his three runs since the winning sequence.
He finished second last time out in a chase at Stratford and today he returns to the Plumton hurdles, where he started his winning sequence with today's jockey David England in the plate. The return to hurdles is a big plus and conditions are ideal for him to put in another good effort. He is high enough in the handicap now, when he won here in May to kick off that sequence of wins he was off 72, he runs today off 102, which shows just how well in he was in back then. It's a competitive event but he is well worth having another go with at an each way price.
Degooch just looks far too big at 13.012/1 in this Class 3 handicap at Uttoxeter. This eight time winner for Paul and Clare Rooney's last win was in a very similar race to this at Stratford in July where he was priced at 5.59/2 and won by 10 lengths. I accept that he fell last time out over fences and that may have dented his confidence but 13.012/1 is too big and the eight-year-old is the clear value in the race.
After winning at Stratford he was given a 57 day break before returning to the same venue where he fell last time out. He's not the cleanest of jumpers and he does have to carry eight pounds more than his last win but looks to be improving with experience. I am sure trainer Johnny Farrelly will have been intensely schooling him at home to try and iron out his jumping errors and if he has been successful at that then he has to be involved in the finish today.
