Nick Shiambouros was on the mark yesterday when his selection Song For Someone won. Nick returns today with two more bets from Kempton and Newcastle...
"This represents a big step up in class, but I believe he has a lot more to offer"
Back Praeceps each-way in the 14:25 at Kempton
Praeceps has more to offer
14:25 Kempton - Praeceps
Praeceps could run well at a big price in this fascinating Grade 2 Juvenile hurdle.
This gelding put in a much improved effort when beating Honorable at Market Rasen earlier this month. He took the lead on the run to the final flight and quickly asserted to score with a bit to spare. He had previously finished second to yesterday's selection Song For Someone who won again. This represents a big step up in class, but I believe he has a lot more to offer. He looks value in the each-Way market at 14.5.
Fusil Raffles in the current favourite at 6.25/1 on the exchange. This French import makes his UK debut for high profile connections. He is evidently held in high regard, and could be anything. This looks like a warm race, and represents poor value in my opinion.
Dimple to keep winning
17:05 Newcastle - Dimple
Dimple can maintain his unbeaten record for current trainer Sandy Thomson.
This versatile performer has won two handicap chases and a handicap hurdle since joining Thomson last year. He is pretty much a confirmed front runner, and these tactics were seen to good effect on his latest start when beating Mount Mews at Kelso. The return to novice company should not inconvenience him, and is fairly priced at 3.1511/5.
Imperial Aura is the obvious danger. He made a winning start over hurdles last October, and has every right to improve. He is the current favourite at 2.982/1.
