Nick Shiambouros hopes to start the new week with a couple of winners from Thirsk and Windsor...
"He put in some good work in the closing stages, and finished the race with good energy"
Back Obee Jo in the 18:10 at Thirsk
Jo the improver
18:10 Thirsk - Obee Jo
Obee Jo could run well at a decent price in this maiden.
This colt caught the eye on debut when finishing fifth to Rathbone at Pontefract. He put in some good work in the closing stages, and finished the race with good energy. The winner is rated 90 and looks a useful sort. Time may tell he faced an impossible task. I think he is open to a fair bit of improvement and is attractively priced at 8.88/1.
Debutant Lucky Number heads the market at 3.412/5 on the exchange. This Dark Angel gelding has a decent pedigree, and is a half-brother to Special Season who won on debut. The stable can get one ready and is the main danger.
Sinjaari looks tough
19:00 Windsor - Sinjaari
Sinjaari looks like the horse to beat in this large group of maidens.
This colt finished a close second to Private Secretary at Redcar earlier this month. He met some interference a furlong from home, but finished strongly and was gaining on the winner close home. This was a super effort, and I fully expect him to go one better today. His price is on the short side at 2.285/4, but I will be surprised if he is beaten.
Global Heat is the second choice at 5.85/1. He was a tad disappointing when finishing third to Faro Angel at Leicester last October but did not have the run of the race. He is best judged on his second to Fintas at Chelmsford the previous month.
