Alan's each way selection yesterday finished just out the frame in fourth, today he has two selections from Kempton and Leicester...
"Today's trip should be perfect for him and he has conditions to suit, off a workable mark of 75."
Richard Hannon's three-year-old colt Lester Kris is still a maiden after eight starts but I think he can break that tag today. He has disappointed on his two all weather starts, finishing last of three on his first attempt at Newcastle and then again he put in a poor performance last time out at Kempton finishing seventh of eleven runners in a weak handicap. However, on the turf he has produced some excellent runs in handicap company, only failing by a head in his last turf start at Windsor in a better race than this.
He is a lightly raced son of he multiple Group 2 winning middle distance horse, Fame And Glory. Today's trip should be perfect for him and he has conditions to suit, off a workable mark of 75 plus he has the services of 7lb claimer Rossa Ryan, the 16-year-old who is attached to the Hannon yard is well worth his claim. This looks like a good opportunity for him to get his head in front for the first time today.
There are some well bred newcomers in this field and potentially some runners that will improve but it looks to me like Odyssa has the ability and the experience to see them all off this afternoon. It's hard to look beyond her, she won well at Ascot earlier this month and you have to think there is even better to come from this daughter of Kodiac.
The step up in trip today should also be to her advantage, over six furlongs at Ascot last time she only needed to be pushed clear by jockey Shane Kelly who also rides today. the two-year-old filly has a 3lb penalty to carry for that success but the added furlong should see her improve beyond that.
