Bets of the Day: Bobby Vee to bounce in again

Bobby Vee can be number one again
Bobby Vee can be number one again

Despite both Alan's selections being well supported in the market, they could only finish second and third, today he has gone to Brighton and Carlisle for his selections...

15:00 Brighton - Bobby Vee @ 7/2 Sportsbook

Dean Ivory runs his two-year-old Bobby Vee for the first time in handicap company at Brighton today. This front running type should suit the track and comes into this on the back of winning his maiden at Leicester last month.

That Leicester maiden may not have been the best quality but the filly should at least be competitive in this. I think this is a really interesting nursery this it could be worth following the fortunes of some of these in the future.

Dixies Double, the current market favourite, has a similar profile to Bobby Vee, coming here after winning her maiden, but she still looked a little green to me and stepping into handicap company for the first time, she may be better next time out.

Goodwood Crusader is another handicap debutant threat, but is yet to run on turf and is a maiden. Mark Johnston is also sending Hope against Hope all the way to Brighton, it is his only runner of the day but you just can't fancy her after finishing last of five after being sent off favorite last time at Catterick.

I think Bobby Vee has the best profile today and I especially like her at 7/2.

15:45 Carlisle - Remember Rocky @ 11/2 Sportsbook

Remember Rocky won this race in 2014 for Lucy Normile and they return today looking to win it again. He has been running consistently lately without getting the rewards and could be knocking on the door as he is well overdue a trip to the winners enclosure.

He normally travels well in his races and will stay this trip no problem, he just seems to keep finding trouble in running.

It is the very talented Adam McNamara (his only mount of the day at Carlisle and then has to get to Thirsk for the 18:35) who gets the leg up, fresh from winning the Ebor at York on Saturday on Heartbreak City and his 5lb claim will come in very handy. Provided he can get a clear run today then I expect him to be very close.
