Bets of the Day: Top Rock Talula can make a winning start in handicap company

jumping a hurdle
Warren Greatrex seems to have found a nice race for his charge

Second place was as close as Alan's selections got yesterday at Cheltenham and he's hoping for better luck with another pair to follow today...

"Makes her handicap debut today off a mark of 100, but gets a handy allowance that I think she could make the most of"

Back Top Rock Talula @ 13/2 in the 13:30 at Plumpton

Top Rock Talula can make the most of a weight advantage today

Plumpton 13:30

Top Rock Talula has only recently arrived at the Warren Greatrex yard following a second on his hurdling debut for Kenny Johnson at Market Rasen, he followed that up with a debut fourth for his new yard over two miles at Fakenham last time out. To be fair he wasn't the greatest on the flat, he never made the frame in any of his four flat starts but the three-year-old filly may be a different proposition over jumps.

She is actually top rated in this race, making her handicap debut today off a mark of 100, but despite running off this mark she gets a handy allowance that I think she could make the most of it in this company. There doesn't look to be too much to beat, the favourite Cracking Destiny is also running in his first handicap but he finished 33 lengths seventh in a Bangor novice last month and seems high enough in the weights off a mark of 99, carrying a stone more than Top Rock Talula. I am more concerned about Kristal Heart, who is a consistent performer and Zante whose only win over hurdles came here at Plumpton over two miles but has a long lay off to overcome today.

Fakhoor has the potential to win this

Kempton 17:00

Owen Burrows charge Fakhoor has been absent since failing to win at Chelmsford in July where he was sent off a well supported favourite. Since then the three-year-old has had the wind surgery and returns today off the same mark as he was on at Chelmsford. He is still a relatively unexposed colt and the Burrows team are in good form, providing Fakhoor has retained his potential after surgery then he could run a big race tonight and get back on the winning trail.

His only win to date was a Class 4 handicap at Newmarket where he beat a now rated 93 horse called Rogue a reproduction of that form would be more than good enough to win this.
