Nick Shiambouros was on the mark yesterday when his selection Pym won. He returns with two more selections from the outstanding card at Cheltenham...
"The water is much deeper but I believe he is up to the task"
Back Igor at BSP in the 14:30 at Cheltenham
Igor for mild upset
14:30 Cheltenham - Igor
I am going to take a chance with Igor in this intriguing contest.
This gelding put in a big effort when beating Papa Tango Charly in a maiden hurdle at Ascot last month. He found plenty for pressure over the last, and pulled clear for an emphatic win. This was a big step-up on anything he has achieved previously, and should have a lot more to offer. The water is much deeper but I believe he is up to the task. At present he is trading at 6.25/1 on the exchange.
Mossy Fen just heads the market at 4.94/1 at time of writing. He is unbeaten in two starts this term and has a progressive look to him. This is a competitive race and looks a tad short for me.
Oh Lord
15:05 Cheltenham - Call Me Lord
Call Me Lord should make his presence felt in this Grade 2 event.
This talented performer went down fighting when finishing second to If The Cap Fits at Ascot last month. He was collared over the final flight, but fought back and was only just denied. The front two finished a mile ahead of the rest. I thought that was an excellent effort and can gain compensation here. At present he is trading at 3.953/1 on the exchange.
Stablemate Pentland Hills is the obvious danger. He backed up his Triumph Hurdle win with a game victory over Fakir D'oudairies at Aintree. His form looks solid, but has to concede weight to the selection which could prove problematic. At present he is trading at 3.259/4 on the exchange.
