Bets of the Day: John Gosden's impressive filly can breeze up today at York

Alan Thompson returns to the tipping chair for the final day of the Dante festival and has two selections that will hopefully see the festival off in style...

14:55 York - Back Dancing Breeze @ 5/2

This race looks an ideal opportunity for John Gosden to continue his good run of form with Dancing Breeze. She was an impressive first time out winner and could be a potentially useful type for powerful connections. Although a little keen early on in her maiden victory at Newmarket, she was asked to go on about two out and put the race away in quick time, eased close home for an easy success. She is related to a Group 3 winner in Ireland, her sister had no problem in soft ground and the capable William Buik is in the plate.

It's a quality field and Ralph Beckett sends Sibilance to the race, a filly who will be looking to keep up her unbeaten record after a brilliant performance on her latest start, and On Her Toes won on soft ground last June at Windsor, winning her maiden race in some style. There will definitely be multiple winners coming out of this race but I just think the Gosden filly will have learned plenty from that first race at Newmarket and I think she looks the most likely winner today.

16:05 York - Back Gibbs Hill @ 7/4

He may be a bit short but I can't get away from Roger Varian's Gibbs Hill who remains unexposed for a yard in excellent form at present. He won on his first attempt in handicap company on his final run as a three-year-old, where he showed some battling qualities when staying on to hold on from a late closer. He returned this season off a 6lb higher mark and won easily at Wolverhampton, powering away from the field without really being asked a question.

He caught the attention of the handicapper again and has been raised 9lbs as a result, but he obviously has plenty of ability and could still be ahead of the handicapper. The soft ground shouldn't be a problem and he should be tough to beat under top jockey Andrea Atzeni.
