Northern to deliver
14:30 Musselburgh - Northern Hope
Northern Hope should go very close in this maiden.
This colt was a little disappointing when finishing fifth to Gallaside at Newcastle last month. He came under pressure a furlong from home, and quickly retreated. He is best judged on his promising debut when beaten a head behind World Title at Beverley. I fully expect him to bounce back against this opposition, and is fairly priced at 2.568/5.
Bye Bye Euro is the second choice at 5.79/2. He finished fifth to Alabama Whitman on debut, but needs to step up considerably to trouble the selection.
Time for a Song
17:50 Chelmsford - Centurion Song
Centurion Song should make his presence felt in this novice stakes.
This Camacho colt has run creditably in his two starts on the turf. Earlier this month at Windsor he finished a decent third to the improving Hard Nut . He held every chance a furlong from home, but could only stay on at one pace when the chips were down. I think he has more to offer, and the switch to the Polytrack surface should not pose a problem. At present he is trading at 5.69/2.
Debutant Vasari heads the market at 3.185/40 on the exchange. He comes from a good family, and is out of a Dam that was a Listed winner. There is plenty of speed in the pedigree, and is the obvious danger to the selection.
