"A lengthy gelding, there is no reason why he shouldn’t prove at least as good over fences, and he is an exciting prospect for novice events this season..."

12:55 - Zalvados sets the standard of those with experience here, but DOSTAL PHIL (6) was a €295,000 purchase after winning a bumper in France last year, and looks a very interesting hurdling debutante for top connections. Whatmore won at Aintree when last seen in May, but may prove vulnerable under a penalty, and Philip Hobbs' newcomer is holding his price well this morning and looks the one to focus on.

13:25 - All three are making their chasing debut, but MODUS (2) was the best of these over hurdles and should prove hard to beat granted a clear round. A lengthy gelding, there is no reason why he shouldn't prove at least as good over fences, and he is an exciting prospect for novice events this season. Gibralfaro looks the clear danger.

14:00 - This doesn't look the strongest event, and SAUVIGNON (4) is chanced to get off the mark after a break. Plenty of these arrive with questions to answer, but the selection is at least a low-mileage mare who represents a powerful yard, and could have more to offer this season over longer trips. Pennywell is of a similar ilk and could prove the biggest danger.

14:30 - DEISE VU (1) proved better than ever in first-time cheekpieces to resume winning ways at Southwell four weeks ago and could be the way to go again with the majority of these having something to prove. Alpine Secret was strong in the market for his chase debut earlier this month and has the potential to do better over fences, but Deise Vu is the only one with recent winning form and is taken to follow up.

15:05 - CAVE TOP (3) made an impressive return when winning by nine lengths under a positive ride at Exeter last week and will be hard to beat if in the same form turned out under a 7 lb penalty. He remains lightly raced and looks a solid favourite under Harry Skelton. War Creation could prove the biggest danger now making his handicap debut off what looks a fair mark.

15:35 - Not much form to go on here and there are some interesting newcomers on show, but the one who make the most appeal is the Nicky Henderson-trained HAUL AWAY (4). He makes plenty of appeal on paper and is strong in the market this morning, so is preferred to Alan King's Stylish Moment.

16:10 - The C&D bumper CHEROKEE PRINCE (2) finished fifth in (also not seen to best effect) a year ago proved to be one of the strongest events of its type last season, so it's well worth chancing his well-being on return. Nestor Park and I'd Better Go Now represent very successful bumper yards and look the pick of the newcomers.
