Timeform take you through the card at Ayr on Monday.
"He remains with potential, despite once again failing to complete at Hexham on his return..."
13:30 - GLOBAL STAGE (3) has by far the best form on offer, and provided all is well after eight months off the track, he should take all the beating in this opening leg of the Placepot. Nicely Indeed shaped as if still in top form on first outing for his new yard when second at Sedgefield earlier this month, and is likely to prove the main threat.
14:05 - BETTER GETALONG (1) won his first two outings in bumpers in 2016/17, and ran as well as could have been expected when upped in grade for the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham last time. He looks a stayer in the making over jumps, but appears to have been found a weak enough race for his debut in this sphere, and rates the clear one to beat for the Nicky Richards yard that does so well with its runners here. Saint Freule looks best of the rest following a good second on his hurdling bow at Hexham.
14:40 - ROYAL PLAZA (1) arguably should have made a winning debut for Olly Murphy at Huntingdon (conceded first run to the winner) and, with his mark unchanged and Richard Johnson taking over in the hot-seat, he should prove a tough nut to crack. Well Above Par shaped well on his first start over fences at Perth and rates a live danger with improvement anticipated, while Star Tackle and Socksy are others to consider.
15:15 - WOOD PIGEON (1) represents an up-and-coming trainer who has done well with similar types, and is a tentative selection in a race where many of these have questions to answer at present. Spoils of War was perked up by cheekpieces last time and looks a threat if the headgear works again, with McGinty's Dream another to note on his return.
15:50 - MINELLA SUITE (5) is selected to open his account in this penultimate leg of the Placepot if putting together a clear round. He remains with potential, despite once again failing to complete at Hexham on his return, and is a winner waiting to happen if his fencing improves. Halcyon Days was capping off a fine season when scoring at Carlisle when last seen and is the obvious danger if ready to go on his reappearance.
16:20 - DUNKEREEN (1) could be the answer to this newcomers event under Richard Johnson. His trainer Olly Murphy, who looks set for a big day, sent out his first bumper runner to finish a good second at Sedgefield last week, and it will be interesting to see if the market speaks in Dunkereen's favour. Karamoko and Run Rocky Run are a couple of others who make some appeal on paper.
