14:00 - CORINTHIA KNIGHT (1) was seriously impressive when winning a novice at Kempton last time by seven lengths and looks ready for the step up to this level. Though both of his wins have come on the polytrack, there is no reason to think that he won't be just as effective on turf, and he can confirm himself as a useful early-season juvenile.

14:35 - A few non-runners have weakened this contest slightly and it should be all the easier for the exiting ICESPIRE (5), who made a most promising debut at the back-end of last season and is sure to build on that here for her red-hot yard. Reportedly an excitable sort at home, she showed none of that on the track last time and ran out a dominant four-length winner. She won't need to improve too much more to double up here.

15:10 - Pallasator did score on his reappearance last season, but had bombed in this race the previous year on his first start back from a break, which is a minor concern. With Harbour Law giving weight away all round for his win in the St Leger, the one to be with could be BATTERSEA (2), who represents an in-form yard and is unexposed at this trip. Battersea ran well from big weights in top staying handicaps near the back-end of 2016 (fourth in the Ebor) and looks well worth a go in this race over a trip that should suit and at a track where he is unbeaten in two starts.

15:45 - In an excellent race BLUE POINT (2) must be included, setting the standard on his win in the Gimcrack last season. He beat MOKARRIS (5) by three lengths that day, but the latter was not ideally placed from a high draw and though he wouldn't have beaten the winner in different circumstances, he may have got closer. He needs to settle down, but if doing so he could make up into a smart sprinter this season, and has the ability to win this is the favourite is not at his best. Sir Dancealot was very progressive last season and will be suited by the return to six furlongs here, though his yard are notably quiet at the moment.

16:20 - MONDIALISTE (5) is dangerously treated in this company on his best form, and as a dual top-level winner in North America, could have too much class for this listed field today. He needs to bounce back from a disappointing run in Dubai last time, but nonetheless makes slightly more appeal than Ennaadd, who is still not fully exposed but will need to improve to win this.

16:55 - Selection is unexposed and won under hands and heels at Kempton last time. He does look as though he'll be better over further than this, however, and may just find things happening a bit quickly for him in this better quality race. One who makes some appeal at the prices is CAT SILVER (13), who is only having his second start in handicaps today. Cat Silver is yet to build on the promise of some of his two-year-old maiden form, but has joined a yard in great form at present and should be suited by returning to a mile, having been too keen when upped to 10 furlongs last time.

Recommendation:

Win back CAT SILVER in the 16:55

Placepot permutation:

14:00 - 1
14:35 - 5
15:10 - 2
15:45 - 2, 5
16:20 - 5
16:55 - 13
