Opera will have us singing the high notes

Today's 80-20 is Welsh Opera in the 13:10 at Lingfield Park.

There are plenty of well bred fillies on show today and this daughter of Noverre is one of them.

She really caught the eye in a typical maiden at Yarmouth just over a week ago when finishing seventh to Wingbeat over six furlongs. Excuse me for using this cliche but the stable's first time starters really do come on for the run and this race is against her own sex as opposed to her first start where she raced against the boys.

Welsh Opera should be a fair price with the Jamie Spencer mount sure to be popular because of his attempt to win the riding title. With some improvement and the extra distance Welsh Opera should give us a sporting chance of landing the 80-20 at a pretty decent price.

Today's 80-20 finished third
