He may not be able to win the Grand National itself today, but honorary runner Bradley Lowery has already won the hearts of millions and Betfair are delighted to get involved...

"...one sure thing today is that Bradley's fight against neuroblastoma, like any of the Grand National winners, will continue unabated regardless of the obstacles in his way."

Today's Aintree Grand National will have a honorary 41st runner when the name of terminally ill five-year-old, Bradley Lowery, appears on the racecard.

Young Bradley, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2013, is an ardent Sunderland supporter and will 'run' in the red and white strips of his beloved team, while, fittingly, being 'trained' by the Black Cats hitman Jermain Defoe.

In support of his incredible achievement Betfair are making a £10,000 donation to his charitable trust and as official betting partners to Sunderland Betfair have extended an open invitation for him and his family to enjoy the finest hospitality in the North East at the Stadium of Light.

Spokesman Barry Orr commented today: "Everyone knows that the 40 runner Grand National is a complete lottery but one sure thing today is that Bradley's fight against neuroblastoma, like any of the Grand National winners, will continue unabated regardless of the obstacles in his way"
